Alicia Shares the Story of her Boudoir Photo Shoot
When I asked Alicia to write about her boudoir experience, she quickly responded with a “YES!” It was the same answer she gave when I posted a model call and she jumped at the opportunity. Alicia was an absolute light during her session, and the transformation I witnessed is exactly why I do what I do! I hold space for women to reconnect with themselves, reclaim their femininity, and rise into being the goddess that they’ve always been inside.
Here is her story, written by Alicia herself.
Marissa is an outstanding photographer. She takes the time out to help you become at ease within yourself. She has an eye for the small details and creates beauty behind the lens. Marissa is not your typical photographer, no…. She is so much more than that.
I am what you would call a “workaholic”. Over the past couple of years, I have been so busy in my work that I noticed a shift within myself. I was so bogged down that I neglected my own being. I was not in tune with myself. I knew there needed to be a change.
And that’s when I saw a model call that Marissa had posted. I reached out to her letting her know that I would love to be a boudoir model for her. She was so excited, and in that action alone, it created a spark in my soul.
The days leading up to the shoot, I debated on what to wear, how my hair should look, and makeup. We settled on my attire, and I was pleased. I chose a cute, oversized sweater-like shirt and white panties for my first outfit, and then a beautiful simple white silk nighty for my second. I am more on the modest side, at least in front of the camera haha. I was so nervous that morning. But I knew it was something that needed to be done for the woman within. She needed to emerge. You see, my sensuality was something I loved so much, not for someone else but for myself. And I let that go when life became busy. I missed her.
I walked into the room and was greeted with the biggest smile on Marissa’s face. She was warm and welcoming. I immediately felt comfortable. She made me feel safe and at ease. Once the shoot began, there was music playing in background. I started to feel it. I was a bit stiff, so Marissa helped me loosen up. She showed me poses and made me laugh. I began to open up more and more.
The second outfit came out and that’s when I started feeling that sensual Queen awaken. “There she is”. Oh, how I’ve missed her. I began feeling more comfortable in my skin, which hasn’t happened in a while. I felt beautiful and alive. But it wasn’t over. I took off the silk nighty and had nothing but my panties. And it was glorious!!!!!!! I felt free.
Marissa has a gift. A gift of helping women find that inner essence. She is a natural at what she does, and it all comes from a genuine loving place in her heart. She really does get excited for you. That’s rare in today’s world. She is confident, yet humble. Strong, yet graceful. And she wants nothing more than for you to shine your brightest.
After I left the room that day, something inside shifted, once again. But it was the beginning of a transformation within myself that I have ever yet to experience. The old sensual me is gone, and the old busy me is gone…. The new me is here. Finally awake and ready to take on the day.
I really can’t express the love and gratitude I have for Marissa. She helped me in more ways than she really knows. It’s not just a picture of you being taken…. It is a groundbreaking movement of soul and magic combined. I love the woman I am becoming and am so blessed to have Marissa there from the start. I thank you!
